Hello friends!

After a brief hiatus to be with family after a loss, I am back and eager to share the inner workings of my mind and future line items on my AMEX statement.

Without further ado, here’s what’s…

On My Mind

Anticipating: Summer vacations. Where is she going? You may ask. The answer is, I don’t know yet. But rest assured, my girlies and I will be jet setting off somewhere come August for no good reason other than to tan in a different region of the world. Current shortlist: South of France, Portugal, Oaxaca, and Ibiza as of yesterday.

Predicting: Capris are making a comeback. My hypothesis is that capris + baby tee + kitten heels = hot girl summer going out fit. You heard it here first folks.

PSA-ing: The post-work gym crowd is where it’s at. I used to be a member of the 8am club, but I got tired of asking my gynecologist to share a machine. I was shocked to discover that after 5pm, Equinox is populated with the same people you find in line for the Erewhon hot bar at lunch. Score.

Appreciating: Sunday afternoon floral arranging. I’m slowly turning into a Sunday Martha Stewart. What does that mean? It means Sundays are my days of homemaking and they usually involve a morning trip to Trader Joe’s and around 6 dozen flowers. The serenity that washes over me as I embrace my green thumb makes me look in the mirror and think, “wow, you’re a mighty fine adult!”

Hosting: Earlier this month, I co-hosted a Sip and See with

Bellamy Novogratz
for our dear friend
Serena Nazarian
’s newborn daughter. We did the floral arrangements ourselves, rented a few cocktail tables and some gorgeous violet glassware, brought in a chef to make some simple snacks and fresh pizza, and created our own version of a bar with beverages on ice. It was such a hit!

Influencing: To the aforementioned Sip and See, I wore this denim Zara dress and these sunnies from Shevoke. I got so many compliments and even a few link requests. So for those wondering…

Contemplating: I have turned my sister’s boyfriend’s upcoming move to New York into a opportunistic moment for myself by brainwashing her into thinking that moving to the city for a year isn’t a bad idea. I have floated the idea of moving back to New York many times in recent years - both for ex-lovers and potential lovers - but the thought of moving for my sister’s lover seems like a safe bet. Not only is she keen, but we found a fabulous apartment available in the fall…

Listening: Song of the week is none other than Carly Simon’s 1972 banger You’re So Vain

Reading: On today’s episode of “How is Storey Bettering Herself?” we are featuring the ever so acclaimed book by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga, The Courage to Be Disliked. It caught my eye while wasting time at the airport bookstore… Ever had a book whisper “you need me?” Because that’s what happened here.

Reviewing: Last week, Ursa Major sent me a PR package which included this serum and I must say, I am obsessed. It’s formulated with 44 clean actives and is accurately described as being “liquid gold.” Highly, highly recommend.

In My Cart

  • I’m having a love affair with Sandy Liang… I want so many things I made a full wishlist linked here but my short list is made up of:

    • The Miku Jacket is giving Prada

    • I need an excuse to wear The Pilton Dress ASAP

    • A chic white midi skirt is a closet staple I fear

    • The Wilbur Top in Pink would be a great addition to my spring and summer wardrobe

    • Mary Jane Pointe (the butter yellow slingbacks are cute too)
