01 | On My Mind & In My Cart
Eskimo sisters, Korean body lotion, sparkly personalities, and Russian Sable coats
Since publishing my first post, I’ve been ruminating on what “series” I could whip up weekly that aligns with how I hope to grow Storey Times. After much consideration, I’ve decided a weekly series on what’s on my mind and in my cart is most appropriate.
As a self-proclaimed curator and micro-socially-acclaimed comedian, I give you the inner workings of my brain and line-items on next month’s AMEX statement…
On My Mind:
Things I’m Obsessing Over
This face cream had my business partner texting me during a Zoom to ask if I got botox. I already got it for my mom, stay tuned for her review.
Someone called me “sparkly” recently so I decided to embrace it by living in these Khaite crystal slingbacks.
I don’t know what magic is in it, but this body lotion is singlehandedly the best I have ever tried.
I got this ring over the holidays and I am so obsessed, I already ordered a second one to build my ring stack.
Another color of my all time favorite one-piece has been acquired because when you find something you love, why not buy it in every color?
I read about this bedside hand cream for months, and my Instagram algorithm finally pushed me to get it. It’s everything they all say it is plus the vessel it comes in looks fab on my nightstand.
Thoughts I’m Obsessing Over
I was recently having a bad day until a friend reminded me that I’m eskimo sisters with an Olsen twin and being connected to The Row in that way made everything better.
I finished this book on women who love too much and realized that I am, in fact, a woman who loves too much. Men, if you’re reading this, be warned… I am evolving. Awareness is the catalyst for change.
My mom and I watched Anora together last week and got through the entire 2 hours and 19 minutes without speaking a word - absolutely unfathomable behavior for the both of us. It left me in tears and wanting a Russian Sable coat.
I found a dress for my friends’ March wedding but decided to make life difficult for myself by taking it to my tailor to customize. To avoid being caught in the same outfit as another attendee, my rule of thumb is to either wear vintage or take whatever you find to the tailor and spruce it up yourself.
My (shop) archive co-founder and I are gearing up for an annual planning offsite next week and I can’t lie, I am so excited that I’m bringing a pantsuit. Stay tuned for outfit pics, it’s vintage Gucci by Tom Ford.
A friend of mine recently got involved with Suay Sew Shop in an effort to upcycle and find alternate use cases for all of the unused clothing donations from the LA Wildfires. I highly encourage you to check it out as I haven’t stopped thinking about it since she shared it with me. Talk about cool people doing cool things.
In My Cart:
The cut of these cream Prada slingbacks is *tres chic* and Frank (my shoe salesman) told me I was giving Audrey Hepburn… I need them now.
I love finding basics that aren’t basic and this tank fits that bill. I don’t have any gray tanks so I’ll start there, then add more colors if I end up loving it as much as I think I will.
A re-up of a favorite cleanser of mine. This one feels like silk on the skin, I can’t rave about her enough.
A sundress for my upcoming trip to Mexico… the high neck and low back look on this is stunning.
I love a chunky statement necklace and this one has the potential to be my new staple. A great piece to elevate jeans and a tee.
A last minute addition to this list is this denim utility jacket. I love the tailored look AND there’s a matching jean…
These earrings are to die for - classic and timelessly elegant. They’re giving small-scale, statement earring. Plus the brand is a new discovery I refuse to gatekeep any longer.
I’m clearly in my creamy neutrals era at the moment and when getting dressed the other day, I realized I have no outerwear that fits that aesthetic (gasp!). This cream wool duster is perfect for LA weather and I can see myself dressing it up or down. I also love this blazer in a similar color but feel like I’d get more use out of the duster.
Another dress I would style with either black tights and boots for a night out or white socks and loafers for a daytime/work look. I’m writing this wishing I had it to wear tonight.
